I have spoken about Cashcrate before, but I wanted to write about it again because it is a great way to make money. I have done it, and made a couple hundred bucks. One way to make a little extra money is to rate music. Record labels often want to have their artists rated before they sign them to a contract, so they send them to market research companies where the songs are tested to see if people like them. The site seems to have a lot of really good information on rating songs, and I will be signing up for one of these sites, and I will give my feedback after I have messed around with it a bit.

If you are good with computers/ technology you could make an Iphone or Ipad application. I am not all that familiar with how to make and develop an application, but from what I know you make an application and sell it in the application store. I have heard stories of young kids making these applications, so I think that most people can make an application if they put some effort into it. Here is the link to the iphone development website. Once you have your app invented you can sell it in the app store, and make some serious money if your app is popular.

Another business that you can easily start in the summer between college sessions is a lawn care business. If you pool your money with your friends you can get all the tools necessary to start the business. You can set your own hours and make good money, but it will be hard work.

There are a million ways to start a business especially in the summer time when people need yard/ house work, so when thinking of ideas of what types of businesses to start keep those things in mind.

I was reading today about a group of students who pooled their money together and bought a power washer, they then advertised that they would reseal people’s driveways. You can get the stuff necessary to reseal a person’s driveway at a hardware store. You just have to supply the labor. One driveway can take about a day, but you and your friends can make several hundred dollars in a day. Although, it is hard work. But if you do this for a summer you will make a very good amount of money, and have your own business.

This can be done at the beginning and end of each semester. For a small fee you can help students move all their stuff into their cars/ rooms. Also, you can do storage for students. If you live near by the school, or if you rent out a storage compartment, you can charge students a fee to keep their futons, refrigerators, or whatever for the summer. Just advertise your service on a Facebook group, or on fliers around campus. I think that this can be a pretty successful small business for students.

A great way to make some money in college is to make and design your own t-shirts. You can do this for free on several sites on the internet. One of the best I have heard of is cafepress.com. From what I understand all you do is upload your designs, then you get 10% commissions off what they sell. So there is potential to make a good amount of money. And you can pick your own hours, so it won’t have a big impact on other things you want to do.

I think that freelancing is a great way to make money in college, I think a great website is freelancing.com. How it works is that businesses post jobs, and then freelancers bid on the projects. It seems like a great place to work, they have over 1.5 million members, so you know it has to be legitimate. But it does seem like a good opportunity to make make money on your own time, and unlike a lot of online jobs the pay is good. So you don’t have to put in a ton of hours, you could probably make a hundred plus a week working around 10 hours. Although, the pay depends on the job. Hope this helps.

And it is really easy, just clicking on offers, I made a junk email to use for the offers. This is a good review I found about Cashcrate.

Another way to make money in college is to make videos, you can post them on revver.com or youtube.com. Once you get enough viewers you can post advertisements on the page, and get paid when people click them.

One way to make money in college is to go online. I have heard of Project Payday, although I have never tried it, but from what I have read it has some pretty good reviews. From what I understand you do simple tasks online, and you get paid to do it. They even have a guarantee that if you don’t make $50 in the first 24 hours (and you follow their steps) they will pay you $100.
